Rated 5 out of 5 by Nickwehnert from Nice real Love this reel bought from cabela's at an introductory price of $129 and that's the most I would ever pay... It's made in China folks but it is a very nice reel I have many pflueger reels trion, president, and supreme also variations of each this is by far the best one. Very smooth drag and light I currently have it on a custom made rod based on a falcon blank. This combo works well for me in trout tournaments that I fish I can cast all day and will not fatigue. I'll buy another but have to find it on sale $200msrp is a little steep in my opinion.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Rob from Olympia from Patriarch handle problems I purchased 15 patriarch 9535 spinning reels for my guide service and have been dealing with handle problems from the start. The handle assembly has been the only issue, a new assembly is around $40 with shipping and pflueger won’t replace it without purchase. They know of the problem but awful customer service all the way to the top. The handles break often and are too expensive to keep buying, too bad pflueger won’t take care of their customers.

Rated 1 out of 5 by g1man1of1chatt1town from The handle grip came off I've had this reel for under 18 months with very little use. I primarily use bait cast reels, but do keep a couple of spin cast combinations loaded up with a float and fly rig and a crappie rig. The grip on this reel came right off in my hand while fighting a nice for me large mouth bass. Luckily I was able to still turn the handle with the rubber grip missing. Now comes even more disapointment. The screw must be on the bottom of the lake. Not to be found in my boat at all. You can not buy the screw that holds the rubber grip in place. You have to purchase the entire assembly (arm and all-which is not cheap). I called and got a heart felt "so sorry" answer. I'll just go back to my old tried and true spinning rigs.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Stripers4Life from Poor Quality I will say, it was very light and good looking. I purchased this reel a few years ago, and it lasted about one season. right out of the box, the roller on the bail made noise. After one season, The bail was very loose and I attempted to tighten the screw holding the cover plate where the spring sits and the head of the screw sheared off. Despite washing down after each used and lubing the critical areas, it became useless. If you have 200 bucks, do yourself a favor and just buy a Penn Clash or a Spin fisher.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ice Fisher from Very smooth light weight reel I purchased the 9525 Patriarch about four years ago and it was my go to panfishing reel. Then about a month ago it started binding up when playing a fish and I noticed that there was excessive side play in the main shaft. I sent it back to the repair center and they repaired it, but the excessive side play was still there. I called the service department and after review of the repair they replaced the reel. That is top notch service in my book. I realize that any mechanical device can and will fail from time to time and does not always reflect the quality of the overall product. But it is the quality of the companies customer service that speaks loudly of the overall quality and integrity off a company, and Pflueger customer service is top notch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Uppy from Pflueger Patriarch I own a fishing guide business in ND and primarily use Pflueger fishing reels. These reels are very durable and smooth. I recently bought several of the Patriarch model and I am very very please with how smooth, and zero back play they have with their anti reverse. Awesome reels. I highly recommend Pflueger fishing reels.
