Rated 4 out of 5 by OldCodger from Excellent reel for the price I have had a 7430 Arbor reel for just under two years now and like it very much. Reeling in line is very smooth and the drag is also very smooth. The oversized spool greatly improves line handling and casting distance. I fish a lot and use my reels 10 to 12 times per month. The only problem I have had is after extensive use the bail arm became a little loose due to wear. A little more attention to cleaning and lubing the reel on my part would probably have prevented this. At any rate, the problem was easily corrected by replacing the bail arm and bail arm guide, a quick and inexpensive fix. About 5 minutes and $3 and I'm good to go for another 2 years!

Rated 5 out of 5 by thefisheater from THE BEST EVER...... I purchased two of the 7450 at half price making a total of 16 PFLUEGER ARBOR REELS. I love the ARBOR for me the best ever, I have two 7430 four 7435 four 7440 and six 7450. Spooled with mono, floro, and super lines, all work very well. I caught a 7 lb. largemouth on a 7430, line 10 lb. Fireline 10 lb. floro leader no problem. I use the 7450 with braid 20 lb. to 65 lb. rod mojo inshore 7 1/2 foot heavy to fish umbrella rigs, slop, trash, grass and wood, with a 25 lb. max drag and 32.4 line pickup you can pull them out of anything. I plan on buying eight more to have six in each model for all applications. BUY SOME YOU WILL NOT REGRET.....

Rated 5 out of 5 by Snowman from Great reel for the price! I bought this reel in Aug 2013 as part of the Arbor Combo. I have used it almost exclusively for surf fishing in California, targeting perch, corbina, halibut, etc. It has been dunked multiple times and dropped in the sand by myself and my son...I do try my best NOT to allow those things to happen. Every time they have I wash the reel off with tap water and let it air dry. So far no issues, it is as smooth as the day I bought it. It casts swimbaits and Carolina rigs far and accurate with hardly any nesting (any that do happen I would blame on my mistakes).

Rated 5 out of 5 by DaveM from My go-to inshore saltwater reel These Arbor reels are fantastic. I own four of the 7440 size reels, and use them primarily for inshore saltwater fishing. I've got them spooled with braided line, and the rubber on the spool keeps the braid from slipping. The drag is strong and reliable, and has held up to 35" red drum in the Carolinas, yellowtail snapper in the Keys, and an bunch of other inshore gamefish. I wish the matching Arbor rod was still available so the rod & reel could be purchased as a combo. It was a perfect setup and I wish I had bought more than four. Even without the rod though, these are excellent, strong and durable reels. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MR5HOLE from Excellent reel for Inshore/Flats fishing I’ve owned this reel/7450X for 3 years and so far have used it primarily for saltwater inshore/ flats fishing, targeting Redfish, Snook, Mutton Snapper and Speckled Trout. The drag on this reel is outstanding. Note, first time out with the reel using 20lb braid, I was afraid I’d burnt the drag out, after inadvertently hooking something big (assume grouper) that ran over 100yds with the drag cranked all the way down before the line broke. No damage occurred and it’s still working great with the original disks. Regarding casting distance; as advertised, this reel has exceptional distance capabilities…provided it’s matched with the right rod. In terms of performance and durability, this reel competes with other similar class reels that go for double the price.

Rated 2 out of 5 by mikei89 from Great reel, but extreme issues. I absolutely loved this reel, but ashamed to say it completely degraded. First, within days of purchase, my bailspring was extremely loose, making my bail pop open from fish strikes causing me to lose fish. Also, last month, the reel completely locked up on me multiple times to the point where i cannot use it. If the reel didnt have issues, this would be the best reel on the market. It's incredibly smooth, casts a mile, and the wide spool feels great. hopefully my reel was a one time mishap.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Listiak79 from Great performance! Casts a mile! Ultra smooth. A diehard shimano user for years until a year ago! I have had my eye on Pflueger the Supreme Xt for a few years. Long story short in a year I have purchased a Trion, supreme, supreme Xt, and now the Arbor!! Filled the shall I say stubby spool with power pro 8lb. Threw it on my ugly stik gx2 elite 7' light. I had expectations to say the least. I had read good reviews and bad reviews. Everyone's a critic! So am I! First of all it is a new look to the arsenal fits nicely with the rest! Went to my favorite trout lake to cast some spinners. Distance of the cast is as amazing, the retrieval amount is great with spinners and spoons! Positive stopping on hook sets, an I have read of line slipping below the spool, not on me. I like this reel alot!
