Rated 4 out of 5 by Fred from Love this Auto-Reel! I have owned 5 of these Pflueger® Automatic Fly Reel's over the last 20 years. I still have 4 of them. Only one has failed (The main Spring broke!). It is so nice to be able to fish with one hand and handle the boat with the other. It is so nice in a fast & hot fishing situation, to be able to take in line fast & smooth, and be ready to get back out fast! Love them! I think I will buy one more as a stand by.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Murray from I have been using Pflueger auto fly reels for years. I was very happy when you stopped using the plastic drive gear. I am that happy again now that you are using a composite line holder. I just went fishing and had no problems catching a limit of native brookies.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MKip from Well worth it I've used automatic fly reels for probably 60 of my 68 years. I've fished in many states and only use automatic. I've owned a fair number of them over the years and if I didn't think they were worth it, I wouldn't keep getting them. Not unusual to get a fair number of years out of them. I have several of them with varying line weights depending on where I'm going. DT3F and DT4F for brookies in the UP of MI and norther WI. DT6F and DT7F for western state streams. I catch over 1000 trout a year and have had very few problems with the reel.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Pistolman from Reel did not work properly right out of box. The reel would not rewind after winding spring. I purchased the reel 4/26/17. I contacted pure fishing about warranty or refund but instead of RA # to return reel I was to pay shipping to return reel at my expense not very good customer service if you ask me. Just decided to cut my loss and toss in in trash. Will not buy another pflueger product. I've had a couple of these 1195 fly reels and all had problems, very poor quality!

Rated 2 out of 5 by Whity from Support Disappointed. Not so much in the reel but the customer service. The reel appears well made but it will not hold 30 yards of backing and a 8W fly line per the instruction manual (which came later via email. It wasn't even in the box with the reel when shipped). It did not hold the 7W fly line and 12 in of 20# Dacron backing that I tried to put on. When I contacted customer support they replied "check the instruction manual". Really? That's it? I inquired how to collapse the retrieve lever for storage and traveling. Their reply was "not possible on that model". Actually if you push the retrieve lever to the right it will collapse as received in shipping. Turning the outside hub will add tension to the spring so you can load line. But no where does it say in the directions that if you turn the smaller gray dial on the face of the reel, it will relieve spring tension. I will keep the reel but I think it's more geared to a 3 or 4 W line. You will not be able to play a fish off the reel because the spring is not strong enough but the automatic feature is good for management of slack line. I have a 1495 DA reel from the 80's which I still use and works great but because of my experience with customer support I will not buy another Pfleuger product. Mark E. White

Rated 3 out of 5 by Carver from Weak retrieve This reel can not retrieve with the bigger heavier fish like my 1978-1983 reel. But I love it and could only make or suggest a couple Modifications.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Booney from Not satisfied at this time Just attached the reel to my fly rod and added 25 yards of 6WF line. At this point in time I am disappointed in the strength of the reel when retreiving line with the auto trigger. My old reel I could set the hook on a fish by simpily hitting the trigger. Unless the spring gets stronger with use, it is not going to happen with this reel. I guess you gewt what you pay for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by NitroZ6 from The only reel to use for Crappie fishing- easy to adjust the depth when trolling across the lake- I use mine on a 9 ft Crappie Max rod- actually I use 3 of the Pflueger Automatic Fly Reels- very dependable
