Rated 1 out of 5 by Stump Jumper from High hope's, but very disappointed! Purchased this reel at Wal-Mart with hope's it would be amazing, being a Pflueger. Attempted to use it on my worm rod because of the smooth feel, but with every pitch the line would slip between the spool and the frame on the left side, meaning I'd have to take the side plate off and untangle the line off the gears....Well, seeing as I didn't want to toss a $60 reel in the lake, I switch rods to my lite crank bait rod.....and to my surprise it still screwed up major....this time the reel locked up, and sounds like a rock in a tin can....What's up Pflueger, I know it's not a high end reel, but I would Have expected more for $60..

Rated 5 out of 5 by HUDSONMAN from GREAT VALUE !!! As someone who works hard for his money and has a passion for fishing, I put a premium on value. That's exactly what you get with the Echelon. A good, dependable reel for a good price. I've used this reel exclusively for bass fishing, throwing all kinds of lures from topwaters to jigs to crankbaits and spinnerbaits. It has handled Largemouths and Smallies up to 7lbs and through it all has been trouble free and dependable. What more can an angler ask for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Noddy from I purchased this reel for a trip to northern australia, cuaght some awesome fish & reel performed just like a Pflueger - even the mates were impressed with it's performance. Tossing hard body lures with consitant accuracy with ease. Just like my other Pflueger - amazing!

Rated 1 out of 5 by stephentrullfishing from Extremely low quality Don't bother getting this reel. Pflueger and others make much better quality reels. My son and I were gifted these and they wore out and fell apart within days. You get what you pay for on these.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Disapointed from smooth winding I bought this reel a couple years ago. Gave it a chance but it never got better. Can not hardly cast without it backlashing. I have been fishing bait casting reels since 1978 this is the worst.

Rated 1 out of 5 by rileyboy from not reliable I had a criterion for 3 years and the anti reverse went out so i sent it back and got an echelon within a week of using it the anti reverse went so i got another one and within 4 months the anti reverse went out it is a very smooth real but would not recommend it for hard-baits or big fish it would be fine on a worm rod just not-one where it was reeled a lot
