Rated 5 out of 5 by flyfishfly from Perfect starter kit I bought this for a trip to utah to catch browns on the Provo. held up for all the fish I caught. Used it on the Blue in Colorado and shook a little while handling a six pound rainbow. Overall great starter kit if you don't want to spend a lot of money to get into fly fishing. I would recommend this for sure.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous from Good starting kit Bought this kit as I wanted to try fly fishing without breaking the bank. I've caught a few trout on it and it seems like a good deal for someone who isn't sure if they want to invest into the sport. Its a 3 piece and my end piece sometimes comes loose and flings out into the water while casting. The reel is some type of plastic/polymer and seems like it could break easily with too much abuse. Comes with a decent set of flies, fly line and a tippet. Pretty much all you need to get going. The tippet was taped to the back of the little cardboard insert and I nearly tossed it when i threw away the packaging.

Rated 1 out of 5 by alexskate from Rod snap I just came from holiday so i bought this fly rod and on the second day it snapped just from casting and i was devastated. because i read a lot of reviews saying how good it was and then when i get it snaps from casting. i don't recommend this rod unless you want to upgrade in two days because it snaps.

Rated 4 out of 5 by DOWNINGRJ from COMBO WORTH BUYING Went to many fishing stores in my town just for looking for a fly rod and reel combo and I had founded an Pfueger Brand, I was very pleased with the purchase and it met my price range to get back into fly fishing. I use my Pfueger fly rod nearly everyday without any discrepancies. The flies work also and I have landed many bass with them. Majority of the flies were replaced after the third use. Normal wear and tear for a fly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Logan42 from Good for beginers I've had this combo for about a month now. I've used it about 10 times and its performed very well. I personally have had no problems with it. Its great for catching bluegill and bass. The only thing i dont like about this combo is the reel is composite.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bran from Great! We bought this for a 12 year old boy who was new to fly fishing. This kit had everything he needed to get started. He caught a bass within minutes of using it! Needless to say, we are very happy with this kit, the price, and the quality.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Chad from Good for the price I bought this rod just to use when I take a beginner with me. It will work, but it is very basic at the most. It does include backing, and the flies look fine. It is a starter. I would only recommend purchasing it if you don't mind upgrading once you decide to get more into the sport
