Warning label on some products
Your Pflueger product is perfectly safe. Please read the following information:
Pflueger Fishing Tackle is complying with a new California law that requires all products sold in that state to have a warning if there is any trace of lead found in that product.
We have had all our products tested in an independent laboratory in California to see what lead exposure was present and all of our products fell well below the 10 microgram level, which is considered safe. But until the Health Department in California makes a ruling on the validity of independent testing, we are required to put a warning label on our products. As soon as we have a ruling in our favor, we won't have to have the warning, which we feel in not warranted in the first place.
The reason we put the warning label on products going to other states is that we do not know where our products may be sold once we distribute them. So if they were to end up in California without the label, we would be held liable and face penalties from the state. No other state is making this requirement of manufacturers.
The bottom line is that no Pflueger products have any harmful amounts of lead. In fact, we have even stopped using lead in sinkers.
